William "Bill" Poeppelman age 91 of Minster, Ohio died at 10:10 PM on Friday July 25, 2014 at Elmwood of New Bremen. He was born on May 7, 1923 in Minster, Ohio to the late Bernard (Ben) & Mary (Schelhaus) Poeppelman. He married Martha A. Knostman on June 27, 1947 in Minster. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2009. He is survived by sons Mark & Teresa (Boerger) Poeppelman, Springboro, Ohio, Craig & Gail (Stueve) Poeppelman, Louisville, KY, son-in-law Nelson Barhorst, Ft. Loramie, 7 grandchildren: Stacie Barhorst, Brandon (Shana) Barhorst, Kelly (Josh) Schaefer, Corrine (Dr. James) Hamilton, Allyson Poeppelman, Matt (Beth) Poeppelman, and Kate (Stephen) Childs, 5 great grandchildren: Kai and Lorelei Schaefer, Will Barhorst, Lincoln Hamilton, and Aiden Poeppelman. and caregiver Mary Jane DeLoye. He was preceded in death by a daughter Ann Barhorst, sister Laura Poeppelman, and brother Ralph & sister-in-law Marie Poeppelman. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, retired Minster Police Chief, and foreman at Autokraft Box Corp. He was also co-founder of Western Ohio Little League and served as a coach. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 Saturday, August 2, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2014 and from 8:30 to 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2014.
