William Bill H. Bergman

William H. “Bill” Bergman, age 88 of Russia, Ohio, died on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, Troy, Ohio.  He was born on December 2, 1936 in Russia, Ohio to the late William & Emma (Broerman) Bergman.  He married Rita Schwartz on April 26, 1958 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport and she preceded him in death on August 6, 2023.  He is survived by children: Tom & Lisa Bergman, Troy, Pat & Paula Bergman, Russia, Carmel Bergman & John Ulrich, Russia, Steve & Kelly Bergman, Russia, Ken & Christina Bergman, Russia, 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and three on the way.  He was preceded in death by 7 brothers & sisters.  He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Minister, and former president of the Russia Athletic Boosters.  Bill was a lifelong farmer, he enjoyed going to flea markets and taking care of the greenhouses.  He loved to play cards especially with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Bill was always concerned about other people more than he was about himself. He will be dearly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Friday, December 13, 2024 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport, with burial to follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Russia on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 3 to 7 PM and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Friday.
