Wilfred H. Depweg, age 91, of Coldwater, Ohio, died at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima. He was born July 12, 1922, in Chickasaw, to the late Frank & Kathryn (Bruns) Depweg. On July 3, 1948, he married Delma A. (Vondrell) in Cassella, and she survives at Otterbein, St. Marys, they were formerly of Coldwater. He is also survived by a sister, Edna Wimmers of Centerville and in-laws, Leon Vondrell of Ft. Recovery, Lula Vondrell of Cincinnati and Pat Vondrell of Dayton. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond & Eileen Depweg and Charlie & Mary Ann Depweg, two sisters, Viola & Stanley Strukamp and Doris Overman and in-laws, Tom Overman, Edgar Overman, Leo Wimmers, Marinus & Rita Vondrell, Ermine Vondrell, Urban Vondrell, Eugene Vondrell, Marie & Tony Evers, Luke Vondrell and Rosie Vondrell. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from NCR in Dayton. He was a life member of the Coldwater Eagles, Coldwater V.F.W. and Coldwater American Legion, and was also with the American Legion Color Guard. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a former volunteer at Mercer Health in Coldwater. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
