Wilbert B. “Bill” Luthman, age 91 years and 6 days of Russia, Ohio, died on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on July 18, 1932 in St. Patrick, Ohio to the late Wilbur & Viola (Gariety) Luthman. He married Joyce Woydziak on August 11, 1956 in Holy Family Catholic Church, Frenchtown, Ohio, and she survives in Russia. He is also survived by children: Jerry & Janet Luthman, Cindy & David Shadoan, Marvin & Dawn Luthman, David & Marge Luthman, Judy & Ron Drees, Janet & Don Pothast, Sue & Bob Drees, Ed & Brenda Luthman, Kevin & Kelly Luthman, Randy & Danielle Luthman, 37 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, siblings: Rita Fleckenstein, Carol & Ray Homan, Larry Luthman, Norma Barhorst, in-law Nancy Luthman. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren: Ariel, Ryan, siblings: Irene Luthman, Ruth & Paul Richard, Eileen & Fred Drees, Kenneth Luthman, Mary Jane & Wilbur Sturwold, Robert Luthman, Alvin Luthman, in-laws Herb Fleckenstein & Lionel Barhorst. Bill was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War, a member of the CWV #661 Russia, Fort Loramie American Legion, the K of C Russia and Ironworkers Local 290. He was a lifelong farmer and an avid patron of Brown’s sweet Shop. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Friday, July 28, 2023 at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia. Burial with full military honors to follow in St. Remy Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Russia on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 3 to 8 PM and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Friday.
