Wayne E. Krebs age 72 of Botkins died Friday January 18 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus. He was born on July 7, 1946 in Sidney, Ohio to the late Eugene & Velma (Liess) Krebs. He married Judith “Judy” Schmitmeyer on April 17, 1971 at Sacred Heart Church, McCartyville. She survives in Botkins. He is also survived by children: Scott E. & Lisa Krebs, Ft. Wayne, Jenny & Rob Sniegowski, New Knoxville, Jason L. and Candida Krebs, Bon Aqua, TN, Christopher & Kareen Krebs, Elyria and Kimberly & Mike Groetz, Beavercreek, 14 grandchildren, siblings: Shirley Chmielewski, Racine, WI, Leo & Paula Krebs, Dayton, Robert & Barbara Krebs, Botkins, in-laws: Diane Naseman, New Bremen, Gerald “Tex” Schmitmeyer, Nick “Pickles” Schmitmeyer both of McCartyville. He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law Carl Chmielewski and Richard Naseman. Wayne was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, participated in Eucharistic Adoration for 25 years, and a parish council member. He was a for vice president of Right to Life of Shelby County, a member of Brown Swiss Futurity, Ohio Brown Swiss Association, assistant Scout Master, Knights of Columbus and a former CYO Basketball coach. He was a parts manager for Koenig Equipment and Dairyland Seed Sales representative. Wayne was able to complete his vision for a devotional trail and memorial chapel of the unborn. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, January 25 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, Botkins with Rev. Sean Wilson celebrant, burial to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 3 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, January 24, and Friday January 25 from 9 AM to 9:45 AM.
