Wanda L. Homan

Wanda L. Homan, age 87 of North Star, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in Greenville. She was born March 14, 1939, in North Star, Ohio to the late Lawrence & Fredona (Bulcher) Rethman. On October 28, 1959, she married her husband, Clem Homan. Wanda and Clem were married for 47 years until his passing on November 19, 2006.

Wanda is survived by a daughter, Linda (Dan) Oldiges of Carmel, Indiana, and a son, Dave Homan of North Star, four grandchildren, Laura (Dave) Cardiman, Kurtis (MacKenzie) Oldiges, Johnathan Oldiges, and Greg Oldiges, as well as four great grandchildren, Lilah and Stella Cardiman, and Nathaniel and Hudson Oldiges. She is also survived by siblings and in-laws: Gladys Rethman, Sharon Mayo, Debbie & Mike Tobe, and Anita Homan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Wanda is preceded in death by a son, Ronald Homan, as well as siblings and in-laws: Jack & Alberta Rethman, Connie & Jerry Meyer, Dennis Rethman, Gene Mayo, Cletus & Hilda Homan, Dorothy & Norman Guggenbiller, and her father and mother-in-law, Bernard & Catherine Homan.

Wanda was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star. She was a dedicated homemaker and worked alongside her husband on their farm. Her hobbies were scrapbooking and genealogy. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, October 5, 2026, at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star. Following the funeral mass, burial will take place in St. Louis Cemetery near North Star. Friends may call from 2 to 6 PM on Sunday, October 4, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry, and from 9 to 10 AM on Monday, October 5, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Those wishing to honor Wanda’s life may consider making a memorial contribution to the Cancer Association of Darke County, or to EverHeart Hospice.
