Virgil E. Barhorst, age 91 of 94 S. Main St. Ft. Loramie, Ohio died at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at his residence. He was born August 16, 1921 in Ft. Loramie, Ohio to the late Anthony & Josephine (DeBross) Barhorst. He married Catherine "Katie" Helmstetter on November 3, 1951 in St. Marys, Ohio. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2010. He is survived by children: Tim & Barbara Barhorst, Yellow Springs, Ohio, Deb & Tom Millhouse, New Bremen, Terry Barhorst Cincinnati, Patrick & Thecla Barhorst, Minster, Tom & Fran Barhorst, Ft. Loramie, 9 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers & sisters, Irenus Barhorst, Robert Barhorst, Raymond Barhorst, Agnes Behr, Margaret Monnin, Frances Wagner, and Ann Maltinsky. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and Ft. Loramie, American Legion and a former member of F.O.E. 1391 Minster. He was a veteran of WW II serving in Japan. He retired from Marwil Products, Ft. Loramie. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Shoup celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, November 12, 2012 and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
