Vincent E. Gruss, age 77, of Coldwater, Ohio, died on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at The Gardens at Celina. He was born August 22, 1935 in St. Anthony, Ohio, to the late Isidore & Mary (Gaerke) Gruss. On April 4, 1959 he married Mary Ann (Eyink) and she survives in Coldwater. He is also survived by five children, Katherine & Randy Homan of Celina, Michael & Kathy Gruss of St. Henry, Mark & Anne Gruss of Celina, Gary Gruss of Powell and William & Bec Gruss of Chagrin Falls, a son-in-law, Phil Tobe of Ft. Recovery, 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Irene & Gerald Timmerman of Ft. Recovery and Rita Eyink of Coldwater, and sisters-in-law, Rose Gruss of Coldwater and Frances Gruss of Ossian, Indiana. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Tobe, brothers, Victor Gruss, Lavern & Ruth Gruss and Donald Gruss, and brother-in-law, Edgar Eyink. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 1956-1958, serving in Germany. He was the former owner of Rish Plumbing in Coldwater. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Men's Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus #1991, past president and member of the Coldwater Eagles, past president of the Coldwater Lions Club and a past trustee of the Coldwater Community Picnic. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, with military rites. Friends may call on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater. Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
