Vernon J. Meyer age 92 of Ft. Loramie, OH died at 2:30 PM Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Versailles Health Care Center. He was born November 20, 1919 in St. Patrick to the late Joseph & Henrietta (Alternatt) Meyer. He married Dolores B. Poeppelman on June 28, 1947 in Egypt, Ohio. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2006. He is survived by children Tom & Diane Meyer, Ft. Loramie, John Meyer Denver, CO, Pat & Don Boerger, Sidney, OH, Jim & Deb Meyer, Ft. Loramie, Dan & Sue Meyer, Anna, Karen & Doug Schmitmeyer, Minster, 14 grandchildren Erica, Chris & Angela, Amanda & Andrea, Jason, Sandy, Ashley & Jordan, Jack, Katie & Megan, Brian & Jenni, 6 Great Grandchildren, brother, Lawrence & Helen Meyer, McCartyville, sister-in-law Phyllis Poeppelman, Egypt, brother-in-law Maurice Bornhorst, Minster. He was preceded in death by brothers Cleona Wyen, Kenneth Meyer, Wilma Ernst, Irene Schmiesing, Viola Bornhorst, John Meyer, Joseph Meyer, 4 infants, Margaret, Alberta, Carl, Mary Louise Meyer. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, K of C Minster, FOE 1391 Minster, enjoyed playing cards and fishing. He was a retired farmer and retired from Monarch Machine in Sidney after 19 years. He was an Army Veteran of WWII in Burma. And a member of Ft. Loramie, American Legion, who conduct the full military honors at the graveside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8:30 am Saturday, June 9, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Shoup celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday June 8, 2012. Burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wilson Hospice.
