Vernita Hickerson

Vernita Hickerson, age 84 of New Bremen, OH died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Friday August 18, 2017.  She was born April 3, 1933 in New Bremen, Ohio to the late Anna Marie Koeper.  She married Omer Hickerson on April 30, 195 and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2012.  She is also survived by children Thomas & Beth Hickerson, Williamston, MI, Carol & Don Pierce, Houston, OH, Joyce & Mike Topp, New Bremen, June & Douglas Drieling, Ludlow Falls, Ike & Mia Hickerson, Troy, OH, Jane & Brent Price Sommerville, GA, 19 grandchildren & 23 great grandchildren and her beloved pets Buster & Ooshi. She was a member of St. Paul UCC, New Bremen and Houston CC Church.   She had worked at G & W Tool. Vernita loved being a grandmother and enjoyed sleepovers and playing SkipBo with the grandchildren.  She also enjoyed taking rides around the lake.  Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster with Pastor Kris Giese officiating . Burial will take place at Houston Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday August 23.  The family requests donations be made to Grand Lake Hospice.
