Vera A. Schmiesing, age 93 of Minster, Ohio died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 12:05 AM at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 13, 1918 in Minster, OH to the late Frank & Mary (Schmitmeyer) Meyer. She married Lawrence Schmiesing on June 11, 1940 in Ft. Loramie, OH. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1987. She is survived by children Dorothy & Robert Lammers, Minster, OH, James & Marilyn Schmiesing, Castle Rock, CO, Robert & Susan Schmiesing, Minster, OH Anne & Richard Robbins, Houston, TX, Richard Schmiesing & Susannah, Ecuador, grandchildren Bill, Michael, James & Brian Lammers, Andrew Robbins, Heather Robbins Kollar, John Schmiesing, Jason & Eric Schmiesing, Amy Schmiesing Kaup, 17 great grandchildren and 1 deceased, brothers & sisters, Marie Huelsman, Robert & Flo Meyer, Botkins, OH, Roman & Mary Meyer, Coldwater, OH, Rita & Stan Wuebker, Minster, OH, Urban & Eileen Meyer, Minster, OH, Dolores & Bob Vollmer, Lusk, WY, Jeanne Kemper, Minster, OH, sister-in-law Mary Schmiesing, Minster, OH. She was preceded in death by sister Esther Frey, brother-in-laws Ralph Frey, Larry Kemper, Ralph Huelsman. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster F.O.E. 1391 Auxillary, a volunteer at Heritage Manor and an office manager for Schmiesing Refrigeration. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 9:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, OH with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, OH from 4 to 8 PM on Friday September 9, 2011 and from 8 to 8:30 AM on Saturday, September 10.
