Thomas J. Rable Sr., age 79, of Celina, Ohio passed away at 1:05p.m. on Saturday Dec. 21, 2013 at the Celina Manor Nursing Home. He was born on July 1, 1934 in St. Marys, Ohio to the late Victor J. & Matilda (Diehl) Rable. On June 2, 1962 he married Marilyn Pleiman, who survives in Celina. Also surviving are his children Thomas Jr. & Rosann Rable of Celina, Mary & Ted Loose of Springboro, 6 grandchildren Matthew, Miranda, Mariah, Marcus, Sara, Kristi and his brother John Rable of St. Marys. Thomas graduated from St. Marys High School in 1952 and attended Wright State University for two years in Celina. He served his country in the United Sates Air Force after World War II. Thomas Retired from Reynolds & Reynolds in Celina in 1997. A central part of his life was the Immaculate Conception Parish Community, where he shared his time and talents as a Lay Minister distributing Communion at local nursing homes, teaching CCD, former active member in the Legion of Mary as well as being a Past Grand Knight and a current 4th Degree Knight of Columbus member with the Celina Council #1800. Thomas was instrumental in starting the Mercer County Right to Life Chapter and the Abortion Alternatives Center in Celina. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion Post #210 in Celina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m. on Tuesday Dec. 24, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth G. Alt C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina, with Military Honors by the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713 and the Celina American Legion Post#210. Friends may call from 4-8p.m. on Monday Dec. 23, 2013 and from 8:30-9:30a.m. on Tuesday Dec. 24, 2013 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. American Legion Post #210 membership services will be held at 7:00p.m. and Knights of Columbus Services will be held at 8:00p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the I.C.
