Steven L. Knapke, age 65 of Yorkshire, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016. He was born on January 2, 1951 in Celina to the late Elmer & Agnes (Kramer) Knapke. He married Lois Stammen on May 13, 1972 at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, Ohio. She survives in Yorkshire. He is also survived by children: Lisa & Tony DiRenzo, Canfield; Emmy & Jim D'Antonio, Dublin; Rachel Knapke & fiance Jack Durham, Dublin & Douglas & Megan Knapke, Sidney; grandchildren: Anthony & Dominic DiRenzo, Charlotte, Olivia, & Benjamin D’Antonio, Henry Knapke & Collin Durham; brothers & sisters: Rosie Subler, Versailles; Virgil & Kathy Knapke, Jacksonville, FL; Irene & Dave Stonebraker, Versailles; Mike & Phyllis Knapke, Louisville, KY; Kathy Wood, Versailles; Jerry & Sheila Knapke, Troy; Marlene & Steve Schlater, Lebanon; Joe & Sue Ann Knapke, Versailles; Marvin & Sue Knapke, Versailles; Judy & Craig Owen, Dayton; in-laws: Jerry & Linda Stammen, Versailles; Jim & Connie Stammen, Piqua; Jeff & Connie Stammen, North Star; Betty & Kent Davis, North Star; John & Christina Stammen, St. Charles, IL. He was preceded in death by in-laws Larry Subler and Jack Wood and parent in-laws Robert & Loretta Stammen. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood where he was a distributor. He was a graduate of Versailles High School in 1969 and a veteran of the Army National Guard. Steve was a member of the Versailles Eagles & Versailles K of C. He was a devout Catholic, a faithful blood donor and an avid gardener. He was self-employed electrician and most recently employed at Marathon Gas. His wife, children and grandchildren brought him his greatest joys. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood, Ohio with Fr. Eric Wood & Fr. David Zink con-celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, North Star. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia on Friday, September 16, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. Memorials may be made to Center for Neurological Development, Burkettsville, Ohio. In honor of Steve, the family asks to please consider being a blood donor.
