Sam Lane, age 70, of 1005 Cedar St. Celina, Ohio passed away at 2:20a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center Lima, Ohio. He was born on September 25, 1941 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Henlin and Ethel (Owens) Lane. On Oct. 11, 1961 he married Pat (Beougher) Lane, who lives in Celina. Also surviving is his daughter & son-in-law Cheryl & Bob Jones of Elliston, VA, grandchildren Amanda & John Guzman, Josh & Michelle Post, Jessica & Mike Rea, Robert Nicholas Wagoner, Scott Temple, great grandchildren Kyra Gross, Celeste Guzman, Chloe Post, brothers John & Jone Lane of Lima, David & Bonnie Lane of Tazwell, TN, Ted & Carla Lane of Palatka, Florida Bruce Lane of Palatka, Florida, sisters Charlotte & Allan Baker of Celina, Pat Davis of Middlesboro, Ky and his brother-in-law Bill Muter of New Albany, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Scott Lane, granddaughter Alison Wagoner, and two sisters Janice Muter and Ruth Deitrick.

Sam was a member of Celina First Church of God, Celina Masonic Lodge #241 F& AM, the Mercer County Sportsmans Association and a member of the N.R.A. He retired from New Idea in Coldwater, OH. Then Drove bus for Celina City Schools and Cheryl Ann Schools.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. on Friday Aug. 3, 2012 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, Ohio, with Rev. Bruce Strine and Rev. Clifford Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Swamp College Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8p.m. on Thursday and 1 hour before services on Friday at the Funeral Home.
