Ruth E. Schoenlein, age 94, of St. Henry, died on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater. She was born July 12, 1920 in Philothea, to the late William & Elizabeth (Stucke) Ahrns. On November 9, 1944, she married Bernard Schoenlein, who died August 11, 1989. She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn & Thomas Hoyng of St. Henry, Ginny & Larry Rammel of Greenville, Cynthia & Larry Wenning of St. Henry and Deb & Dan Hess of St. Henry, 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and in-laws, Lavern Wolters of Coldwater and Rita Schoenlein of St. Rose. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara & Daniel Hoyng, a grandchild, a great-grandchild, brothers and sisters, John Ahrns, Ed Ahrns, Leo & Esther Ahrns, Caroline & John Hehr, Ann & Ray Garke, Dorothy & Ed Stachler and Rose Trammel and in-laws Alfrieda Wolters, Roman Schoenlein, Albert & Victoria Schoenlein, Mary & Vernon Rutschilling and Esther & Walter Rethman. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, its Ladies Altar Rosary Sodality, the Coldwater Eagles Auxiliary, was a 1938 graduate of Coldwater High School and was retired from former Huffy in Celina. She enjoyed family, sewing, card playing and baking. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Henry Church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday and 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
