Ruth (Dirksen) Evers, age 85, of Coldwater, passed away peacefully at her home on July 22, 2026. She was born on July 14, 1941, in Cassella to the late Clarence and Philomena (Homan) Dirksen. On February 10, 1962, she married Marvin Evers, and he survives in Coldwater.

She is also survived by her children, Carol (Paul) Schmitmeyer of Versailles, Mary (Gary) Mescher of Maria Stein, Connie (Jerry) Miller of North Star, Kevin (Lisa) Evers of St. Henry, Suzanne (Gregory) Smith of St. Marys, and Duane (Kristie) Evers of St. Henry, 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and in-laws, Sally Dirksen of Portland, Judy Dirksen of Cassella, Marilyn Schwieterman of Coldwater, Roger Evers of Coldwater, and Kathy and Jerry Laux of Coldwater.

She was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Herb and Mary Dirksen, Rita and Ed Evers, Alma and Ernest Schmitmeyer, Helen and George Wenning, Esther and Orville Winner, Joan and John Poeppelman, Louis Dirksen, Dennis Dirksen, Kenneth Schwieterman, and Elaine and Clem Ebbing.

Ruth was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, St. Monica Ladies Sodality, and the Polka Boosters Club. She was a dedicated farm wife and homemaker. She loved to garden and polka dance, and she would do anything for her grandchildren. Ruth was the glue that held her family together.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Carthagena. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, July 24th, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
