Rosemary Kemper Poeppelman age 99 of Osgood, Ohio passed away at 10:31 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born on June 7, 1926 in Maria Stein, Ohio to the late John & Josephine (Hoying) Dahlinghaus. She married Alvin Kemper on May 26, 1953 and he preceded her in death on August 7, 1965. She married Edwin A. Poeppelman on June 3, 1970 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Ft. Loramie and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2016. She is survived by children: Mike Kemper, Osgood, , Patti & Tom Berger, Minster, Karen Kemper, Maria Stein 6 grandchildren; Kelli & Kevin Market, Scott Berger, Holli & Kyle Platek, Joe & Nathalie Kemper, Jessica & Cole Thieman & Christopher & Kristen Kemper, 15 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren, brothers & sister; Ralph & Anna Lee Dahlinghaus, Burkettsville, Andy Dahlinghaus, Coldwater, Mary Ann Heckman, Troy sister-in-law Mary Louise Dahlinghaus, Maria Stein. She was preceded in death by son Kenneth Kemper, 2 infant children Joseph & Maria, brothers & sisters: Norbert Dahlinghaus, Martha & Earl Thieman, Esther & Jim Schwieterman, Dennis Dahlinghaus, Tom & Mary Dahlinghaus, brother-in-law, Tom Heckman. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, the Lady’s Sodality of the Church, a member of the Osgood American Legion Auxiliary. She was a cafeteria worker at Marion Local Schools and helped on the farm. She enjoyed reading, walking, making rosaries, playing cards and watching her grandkids’ activities. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 20, 2026 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
