Rosella O. "Toots" Hierholzer Moorman

April 6, 1927 — March 19, 2018

Rosella O. “Toots” Hierholzer Moorman, age 90, of St. Henry, passed away peacefully Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Gardens at St. Henry. She was born April 6, 1927 in Sharpsburg, to the late Henry &Emma (Huber) Kaiser.  On August 30, 1947 she married Walter J. Hierholzer, and they were married 59 years, until his passing in December of 2006.  On July 11, 2010 she married Wallace F. Moorman and they were married until his passing in January of 2014.  She is survived by her children: Joan & Mark Kunk of Versailles, Julius Hierholzer of St. Henry, Jody & Dan Lange of St. Henry, June & Dale Leistenschneider of St. Henry,  a son-in-law, Matt Schwieterman and friend Carol Beckman of Coldwater, six step-children, Gregory E. & Regina Moorman of Vandalia, Gary J. & Cathy Moorman of Mason, David L. & Millie Moorman of Centerville, Joseph A. & Diana Moorman of Kettering, Jennifer & Jim Clark of Dayton, and Patrick J. Moorman of Dayton.  Toots is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, and siblings Marcella Hemmelgarn of Coldwater, and  Herbert & Rosemary Kaiser of Coldwater, and in-laws: Dorothy Hierholzer of Sidney, and Eileen Schmitz of Coldwater.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Schwieterman, a son, Jeffrey Hierholzer, daughters-in-law, Betty Hierholzer and Dee Schwieterman, a great grandson, Zach Kelch, siblings: Leo & Alma Kaiser, Bernard & Mary Kaiser, Joseph & Adelma Kaiser, Richard Kaiser, Ed & Dorothy Kaiser, Stella & Lawrence Broering, and Luetta & John Reichert, and in laws: Richard Hemmelgarn, Betty & William Darland, Virginia & Paul Olding, Danny Hierholzer, and step-sons, Anthony R. Moorman Douglas E. Moorman

She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, the church’s Ladies Sodality, and was a former Eucharistic Minister.  Toots enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren.  She loved living in Burkettsville and working in Hierholzer Garage across the street from her home.  She was a great mother and cook, and will be remembered by her grandchildren for her famous chocolate chip cookies.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, March 22, from 2:00 to 8:00pm and on Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Henry EMS.
