Rose B. Kramer, age 92, died on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Elmwood Assisted Living Center, New Bremen. She was born August 31, 1921 in Chickasaw, to the late Ben & Mathilda (Schmitmeyer) Niekamp. On November 27, 1941, she married Othmer Kramer in St. Sebastian, and he died June 17, 1980. She is survived by five children, Donald & Rita (Muhlenkamp) Kramer of New Bremen, Norma Jean & John Hagan of Springboro, Janet & Robert Varro of Pine Hurst, North Carolina, Del & Jane (Quinter) Kramer of Celina and Darrell & Vicki (Brandts) Kramer of Montezuma, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, brothers and sisters, Cletus & Hilda Niekamp of New Bremen, Paul Niekamp of New Bremen, Dorothy Schmitt of St. Henry, Edna & Roger Lochtefeld of Ft. Recovery, and in-laws, Dorothy Niekamp of Montezuma, Luella & Melvin Rindler of Montezuma, Albin & Lucy Kramer of Maria Stein, Lucy Kramer of Celina, Norb Kramer of Chickasaw, Andy & Ellen Kramer of Chickasaw, and Mary Ann Severt-Overman of St. Marys. She is preceded in death by brothers, Mark Niekamp and Tom Niekamp and in-laws, Ruth Niekamp, Ralph Schmitt, Leon Kramer, Agnes & Elmer Knapke, Alice Kramer, Roman Severt, Gene Overman, Helen & Charley Connolly and Werner & Marilyn Kramer. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma and enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, gardening, Cincinnati Reds baseball and family gatherings. She worked at Mercer County Community Hospital and the former Valley Nursing Home. She also volunteered with the sewing circle at Coldwater Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Friday, February 21, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, Montezuma. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday and 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Memorials may be made to Grand Lake Hospice.
