Roger Leo Dorsten wishes to celebrate his life from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Roger passed away Monday, February 17, 2014, on the twelfth anniversary of his wife's death, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater and donated his body to the Boonshoft School of Medicine Anatomical Gift Program. He was born January 30, 1933, in North Star, to the late George & Margaret (Huwer) Dorsten. In 1953, he was inducted into the U.S. Army, and after serving for eighteen months he married Patricia Ann (Stammen) on October 1, 1955. He is survived by six children, Jeff Dorsten of Lima, Jane & Steve Gerlach of Coldwater, Ron & Cassie Dorsten of Celina, Peggy Dorsten of Coldwater, Kelley & Andy Wolfe of Granville and Kimberly Dorsten & Scott Warner of Celina, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild, two sisters, Mary & Thomas Moeller of Ft. Loramie, and Eileen Steinbrunner of Marion, Indiana and a brother, Walter & Carol Dorsten of Greenville. Roger was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a grandchild, a sister, Pauline Dorsten and a brother, John Dorsten and a brother-in-law Harold Steinbrunner. He was a self-employed general contractor and farmer in his early days, and after retiring from that he did finishing work for Ebbing Cabinetry. He was a member of the Coldwater V.F.W. #5135, enjoyed watching his grandchildren's athletics, playing euchre and cards, going fishing and rebuilding furniture. Roger also enjoyed socializing at local restaurants, where he entertained patrons and staff with his jokes and teasing.
