Roberta "Joan" Elsas

Roberta “Joan” Elsas age 87, of Russia, Ohio died at 12:21 PM on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.  She was born on January 5, 1934 in Russia, Ohio to the late Bernard C. & Lenora (Marchal) Liette. She married her high school sweetheart, Walter “Lee” Elsas on September 10, 1955 and he survives in Russia. She also survived by three sons: Kenneth & Sharon Elsas, Russia, Gerald “Jerry” & Diane Elsas, Versailles, David & Lynda Elsas, Troy, Michigan, seven grandchildren: Randy & Ashley Elsas, Angie Unrast, Danny & Kirby Elsas, Denise Elsas, Christopher & Brittany Elsas, Michael & Elaine Elsas, Brian Elsas, 14 great grandchildren, brother, Edwin Liette, Piqua, sister Marilyn & Robert Tegtmeyer, Clayton, and brother Ronald & Sharon Liette, Tipp City. She was preceded in death by infant son Joseph, sister & brother-in-law Eileen & Paul Bertelloti, sister-in-law Jean Liette & brother-in-law & sister-in-law Richard & Patsy Elsas.  Mrs. Elsas was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, St. Anne’s Rosary Altar Sodality and a past secretary for the altar sodality.  She was also a gift presenter at the church.  She was a member of the Gaspar Del Bufalo K of C Auxiliary, Minster and a member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau.  She retired from Crown Equipment Corp. New Bremen and also a loving homemaker.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am on Monday May 17, 2021 at St. Remy Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Fox Celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. Remy Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home Russia from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday May 16, 2021 and from 9 to 10 AM on Monday.
