Robert Weitzel

Robert L. Weitzel, age 85 of Coldwater, died Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Heritage Manor, Minster. He was born October 20, 1929 in Coldwater, to the late Chris & Rose (Weigel) Weitzel. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy ( Seger) on September 13, 2004. He is survived by five children, Cindy Evers of Coldwater, Connie & Larry Kessler of Fairfield, Tim Weitzel of Troy, Kim Stelzer of Coldwater and Chris & Barb Weitzel of West Chester, thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister Alice Hein of Cincinnati and a sister-in-law Lois & Don Brown of Greenville. He was also preceded in death by a son Brad, siblings and in laws, Luella & Urban Wuebker, Kate & Willy Homan, Bill Weitzel and Dennis Hein. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, Coldwater Knights of Columbus, the Coldwater American Legion and V.F.W. Posts. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps and he retired from AVCO New Idea in Coldwater and worked at True Value Hardware in Troy. Bob enjoyed playing cards and his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Holy Trinity Church. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Friday and 12:00 to 12:30 pm Saturday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
