Robert "Bob" Huecker

Robert “Bob” Henry Huecker was born on November 30, 1939 at his home in McCartyville, Ohio, the son of Paul & Theresa (Schlater) Huecker.  He died on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 1:04 AM at Hospice of Dayton. On July 1964 he married Carol Grillot at St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia, Ohio.   They built and moved into their new home as newlyweds, living there 59 years.  Bob is the father of three beautiful children: Laura & Ray Fabik, David & Regan Huecker, Tim & Mandy Huecker.  He had eleven wonderful grandchildren: Sebastian, Mateo, Draden and Tevin Fabik, Wyatt, Tatum Cohen, and Ivan Huecker, and Jackson, Maggie, and Lila Huecker.  Bob was one of six children and the last of his immediate family. His siblings were: Madonna & James Roth, William & Marilyn Huecker, Carol & Robert Hurm, Sister Paula Huecker, and Edward & Jackie Huecker, his in-laws: Annette (dec) & Jerry Goldschmidt, Patricia & Ronald Francis, Mary Jo (dec) & Robert Enneking, Louise (dec) & Ray Koenig, Joan (dec) & Mike Donauer, Barbara & Dan Creagan, and Nancy & Lynn Maurer.

Bob graduated from Anna High School in 1957. He served in the Air Force National Guard for 6 years and worked at Stolle’s for 41 years. Bob was also a wedding photographer for 31 years and captured the happy day for 1680 couples. After retiring, he volunteered for 17 years at The Center for Neurological Development, Burkettsville. He lined the Minster High School football field and was a 10-gallon blood donor. Bob was a very social and belonged to many organizations, some of which included: member of St. Augustine Church Men’s Choir for 50 years, member of the first Oktoberfest Committee (1975) and 33 years later was the Grand Marshall of the Parade, Parish Council President, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, First Vice Commander of the American Legion and the Lake Loramie Improvement Association.

He spent many happy hours with his family and friends. He recorded those happy times with his camera and then put the pictures in albums, of which he has over 100.  Bob enjoyed cruising and picnicking on his pontoon, The Captain Hook on Lake Loramie. Bob and Carol visited all fifty states and five continents and never met a stranger.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday, July 14, 2023 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with burial with full military honors to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.  The family will be able to greet friends and family at Earl’s Island Pavilion at Lake Loramie after the committal service to 3 PM on Friday.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center for Neurological Development.  Condolences may be left at www.hogenkampfh.com
