Robert C. Hoying

Robert C. Hoying age 91, of Fort Loramie, Ohio passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born August 7, 1924 in St. Patrick, Ohio to the late Julius & Johanna (Wuebker) Hoying. On May 7, 1949 he married Dorothy Flaute and she preceded him in death on December 6, 1971. He married Mary Ann Droesch-Byers on May 4, 1974 and she survies in Sidney. He is also survived by 5 children: Carol & Bill Buehler, Kettlersville, Don & Eileen (Fullenkamp) Hoying, Greenville, Nick & Bonnie (Meyer) Hoying, Ft. Loramie, Mark & Sue (Schulze) Hoying, Ft. Loramie, Rob Jr. & Jeanne (Hilgefort) Hoying Ft. Loramie, 17 grandchildren & 39 great grandchildren, brother Ludwig & Theckla Hoying, Jackson Center, in-laws Lois Hoying, Sidney, Jack McClellan, Oregon, Norris Monnier, Sidney & Lucy Hoying, Wapakoneta, and 3 stepsons and numerous step grandchildren & great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers & sisters Alma Kerber McClellan, Paul Hoying, Ruth Monnier, Clifford Hoying & Thomas Hoying and 1 step son. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Ft. Loramie. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII for three years in the Pacific Theatre. He is a member of the Ft. Loramie American Legion, The Loramie Legion Chicken Fryers, Ft. Loramie Volunteer Fire Department, McClean Township Trustees, St. Patrick/McCartyville K of C and Minster Eagles #1391. He was a lifelong farmer and carpenter. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 14, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Ft. Loramie with Rev. Steven Shoup Celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, with full military honors from the Ft. Loramie American Legion.  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home Minster on Sunday, March 13 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and on Monday, March 14, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
