Robert Evans, age 85, passed away surrounded by family Friday September 28, 2012 at the home of his nephew and niece Robert M. and Karen V. Evans in Celina OH. Born in Wellston Ohio to Robert W and Catherine (Durkin) Evans on February 27, 1927.He is predeceased by his parents, siblings, Thomas W. Evans and Ruth Ann (Evans) Connell and his wife of 61 years, Alice (Castles) Evans. Robert is survived by his sister-in-law, Connie (Michaels) Evans of St Mary's OH, Ashford and Becky Castles of Winnsboro SC, Bill and Beck (Castles) Gossett of Columbia SC and many nieces and nephews. After he served in the Navy during World War II he worked for 5 years at Spandau Prison in Berlin Germany guarding Hitlers henchmen. He worked for the Federal Prison system for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Robert donated his body to science through Humanity Gifts at The University of Toledo in Toledo OH. There will be no public service.
