Robert Dean Dressel of Coldwater, Ohio was born August 19, 1969 in Glendale, Arizona and has passed way Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Robert Eugene Dressel, stepmother Jill Dressel and grandparents Oliver Otto Dressel, Lois Claire Lingafelt Dressel, Hobart Brown “Brownie” Woodruff and Nellie May Bailey Woodruff.
Bob is survived by his wife Lynn Glonek Dressel, son Mitch Dressel, mother Connie Woodruff Lane, stepfather Charles Lane, brother Richard Dressel, sister-in-law Dawn Dressel, 15 nieces and nephews, 4 great nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved him very much.
Bob was an overachiever in all he had done. He graduated from Jay County High School in 1987 where he was in the honor society, class president and a valuable player on both the football and basketball teams.
Bob received a full scholarship to Purdue University where he continued to pursue his dreams of playing football while earning a bachelors of science in building construction and contracting, while attending Purdue University he was the football lifter of the year in (1990, 1991), football team captain in (1991) and received the Red Mackey leadership award in (1991), Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (!991) and was a participant in both the Blue/Gray All-Star Football Classic (1991) and the Kodak Hula Bowl (1992).
After college Bob went to training camp with the New York Giants (1992), San Francisco 49ers (1993) and played for the Sacramento Goldminers in the CFL (1993-1994). He later pursued a career as a regional sales manager for All American Homes in Decatur, IN and Heckaman Homes in Nappanee, IN.
Bob accomplished more in a short time he had here on earth than most do in a lifetime, but his true and most loved accomplishment of all was having his son Mitch who he loved more than anything. Bob was loved and will be dearly missed by so many and will never be forgotten.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
