Robert James Alexander (Bobby), age 55, died at approximately 10:30 pm on December 18, 2020 at his home in Russia. He was born on January 13, 1965 in Cincinnati, Ohio and adopted through the Catholic Charities Organization by the late Firmin & Theresa (Wenning) Alexander.
He is survived by his beloved son Jesse, sister & brother-in-law: Rebecca & Dennis Latronico of Fort Lauderdale, FL. and many, many close personally adopted brothers and sisters!
Bob was a member of the St. Remy Catholic Church, and a graduate of the Russia Local School with a two (2) year specialized focus on Autobody restoration through the Joint Vocational School in Piqua, Ohio.
Bob resided in Russia and dedicated his life to care for our Mom and to provide a stable environment for his son Jesse, step-son Jonathan and step-daughter Cassie. Although many forces worked against him over the years, it would be unusual to hear him complain about his circumstances and he strongly resisted pity. One could say, he ‘never gave up trying’. Bob was simplistic but far from simple! He portrayed strength and endurance, conventionally different, but a man woven from his love of God, Family & Friends, our little Village of Russia, America, Music and Motorcycles!
Many who knew him, knew he loved everything about motorcycles, especially Shovelhead Harley’s. Bob’s passion included meeting with friends in person and online to discuss vintage motorcycles. Bob was the online Administrator for several Harley Davidson Facebook groups where he was well recognized. These groups facilitated restoration projects, parts exchange, mentoring and coaching, all around the world. Bob had two (2) bikes of his own, with refurbishments underway at his home in Russia when he passed.
Bob was also passionate and concerned about the direction of our country. He was engaged in focus groups online that promoted Conservative values. Interestingly, his awareness on this topic is reflective of many years of research. He began discussing the NWO many, many years ago before anyone took the topic seriously.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on December 30, 2020 at St. Remy’s Catholic Church, Russia with Rev. Martin Fox. Celebrant. Due to current concerns regarding the CHINA-Virus, a private viewing for the immediate family will be held prior to Mass. The family asks that the CDC regulations of wearing masks and social distancing be followed. Pending the status of the pandemic, a Celebration of Life will be planned for the Springtime. Note: If you are unable to make a monetary donation, The Rehab Center is also happy to have donations of time from anyone who is interested in volunteering. Bob spent many years at the original center when it was first opened. He gained skills, stamina and determination as a result. Founders Ruth Hahn and Gloria Hufford were instrumental in guiding my parents through the challenges that faced them as well. Contact Barb or Carla at 937-773-7630
