Rita L. Wenning-Spraley, age 89, of North Star Ohio, died on Tuesday, May 01, 2012 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born November 28, 1922 in Lakeview, Ohio to the late Carl and Irene (Tate) Hohl. Rita is survived by her husband of 30 years Alvin J. Spraley in North Star , Ohio, four children Margie & John Heitbrink of McCartyville, Ohio, Linda & Leo Wehrkamp of North Star, Ohio, Charlie Wenning of Conner, Montana and Tom & Loni Wenning of Asheville, NC, six grandchildren Jessica & Jason Howell, Jeanna & Jeff Heitkamp, Gwenn & Michael Barga, Shawn & Georgia Wehrkamp, Alyssa & Jacob DeMange and Sara Wehrkamp, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren, four siblings Mary Murphy of Centerville, Ohio, Martin & Vivian Hohl of Centerville, Ohio, Jack & Marty Hohl of Dayton, Ohio and Anne DeBrosse of Dayton, Ohio and four in-laws Velma Rice of Dayton, Ohio, Lucille Heinrichs of Coldwater, Ohio, Irene & Clete Albers of Ashland, Ohio and Bertha Wenning of Osgood, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her 1st husband Arnold Wenning in 1971, a son Joe Wenning, a great-grandchild, and brothers Karl & Richard Hohl. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, was the church organist for over 35 years, the church choir, a lay catechist, St. Anne's Ladies Sodality, North Star American Legion Auxilary and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. She graduated high school in Noblesville, IN attended nursing school at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio and worked at Community Hospital and Briarwood Manor Nursing Home both in Coldwater, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, May 07, 2012 at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, Ohio with Fr. David Zink, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, North Star Ohio. Friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Louis Church. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
