Rita Catherine Homan, age 83, of Villa Hills, Kentucky, formerly of Coldwater, born July 18, 1929 to Clem and Rose (Schindler) Reinhart, passed peacefully on February 22, 2013 at home with her two daughters at her side. Rita was originally from Holy Trinity near Bryant, Indiana. Married May 28, 1949, she is survived by her husband, Othmar (Ott), of 64 years, son of Edward & Catherine (Wendel) Homan of St Anthony, OH.

She is survived by seven children: Thomas & Nancy (Moeller) Homan of New Smyrna Beach, FL; David & Barbara (Lange) Homan of Rochester Hills, MI; Richard & Gretchen (Heid) Homan of Naperville, IL; Susan & Harry Chesnut of Alexandria, KY; Catherine & Thomas Bourgeois of Alexandria, KY; Michael Homan & Debra Briner of Columbus, OH; and Carol & Dexter Holt of Sherborn, Mass., 20 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, 5 siblings: Eugene & Luella (Homan) Reinhart of Bryant, IN; Norma Huelskamp of Topeka, KS; Carl & Janet (Fields) Reinhart of Bryant, IN; James & Patricia (Donnelly) Reinhart of Centerville, OH; and Judy and Jim Alig of Bryant, IN and a sister-in-law Mary Meier (Dorsten) of Celina OH.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Ernie Reinhart; sister, Elizabeth Reinhart; brother-in-law, Ivo (Steve) Huelskamp; and one grandchild, Theresa Homan (Thomas & Nancy Homan).

Rita was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, OH, the Ladies Sodality; and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She enjoyed being a volunteer at the Coldwater Hospital gift shop and also retired from Reynolds & Reynolds. In her earlier years she enjoyed gardening, canning and especially fishing. When she was younger she played in a dance band for weddings and continued to play the piano and organ throughout her life. Mom was an accomplished artist painting with oils and dabbling with making wine. We will miss her!

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
