Richard Wehrman

Richard H. Wehrman age 92 of Fort Loramie, Ohio died on Sunday April 2, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living Center Clayton, Ohio.  He was born on June 2, 1924 in Egypt, Ohio to the late Fred & Clara (Rosengarten) Wehrman.  He married Delores M. Barlage on June 14, 1947 in Fort Loramie, Ohio.  She preceded him in death on October 11, 2003.  He is survived by daughter: Jane & Dennis Bensman, Dayton, son: John & Kathy Wehrman, Troy, grandchildren: Jeff & Cynthia Bensman, Brian & Amy Bensman, Michelle & William Matheny, Brad & Donna Wehrman and Stephanie Wehrman and 7 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Bea Barlage, Sidney, Doris “Doty” Barlage, Dayton, Marjorie Barlage, Dayton and Peg Heitkamp, Fort Loramie. He was preceded in death by daughter Judy Wehrman, brother Sylvester Wehrman and sister Martha Giese. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. He was a 1942 graduate of Minster High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II, serving in Japan from 1945 to 1946. He was a lifetime member of the Fort Loramie American Legion, a Uniform Rank of the Knights of St. John and on the Democratic Central Committee.  He retired from Minster Machine Co. after 40 years of service and worked as an agent for Kemper Insurance. Richard was the 2005 Parade Grand Marshal of the Fort Loramie 4th of July Parade. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 10, 2017 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, Ohio with Rev. Steven Shoup, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 9, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday, April 10.
