Richard J. Kemper

Richard “Rich” J. Kemper, age 88, of Minster, Ohio, died on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Elmwood New Bremen.  He was born on January 31, 1937 in Minster, Ohio to the late John & Pearl (Ellis) Kemper.  He married Mary Jean Henke on August 31, 1957 and she survives in Minster. He is also survived by his children: Kevin Kemper, Xenia, Keith & Peg Kemper, Minster, Kendra Sommer, Minster, Karmen Snyder, Minster, Karla & Michael Rickert, Kettlersville, 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one on the way, brother Robert Kemper, Minster, brother-in-law Dan & Mary Henke, San Diego CA. He was preceded in death by sons-in-law: Steve Sommer and Rick Snyder, siblings and in-laws: Rosemary & Jack Brandewie, Thelma & Nick Zegarelli, Dorothy & Leo Finnen, Judy Kemper, and infant Joseph Henke. Rich was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster and the Men’s Choir for over 50 years.  He enjoyed woodworking, baking and butchering.  He was self-employed as a painter and decorator. He loved spending time with family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Ohio with burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 3 to 7 PM and on Wednesday, April 23 from 9 to 9:30 AM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Minster Area Life Squad.   Condolences may be left at www.hogenkampfh.com.
