Richard A. Ahrns age 75 of Minster, Ohio died on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1940 in Minster Ohio to the late Richard & Julena (Sautman) Ahrns. He married Janice Wente on February 17, 1962 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen and she survives in Minster. He is also survived by children: Thomas & Ann Ahrns, Dublin, Ohio, Pam & Bill Kosher, Columbus, Ohio, Kelli & Scott Kelly, Canal Winchester, Ohio, Krista & Michael McKelvey, Upper Arlington, Ohio, grandchildren: Kiersten, Marie, Madison, Trace, Kate & Clare, brother Ed Ahrns, Minster, Ohio & sister-in-law Bonnie Ahrns, Minster, in-laws Marilyn Winner, Osgood, Tom & Joyce Wente, Minster, Dennis & Leah Wente, New Bremen, Connie Will, New Bremen, Ted & Ann Wente, Michigan, Bertha Wente, Minster. He was preceded in death by brothers John & James Ahrns, infant sister Helen Ahrns, sister-in-law Marilyn Ahrns, in-laws Delores Bentz, Robert Wente, Shirley & Walt Seger, Dennis Winner & Mike Will. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. He was also a member of Minster F.O.E. #1391 and the Minster Area Life Squad. He was a graduate of Minster High School and the University of Dayton. He was a teacher for 34 years at Minster Schools. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 16, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2015 and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Friday, October 16, 2015.
