Rev. John L Bensman

Reverend John L. Bensman passed away on May 25, 2018 at St. Charles Center (Carthagena). He was born on May 28, 1929 in St. Patrick, Ohio. He did his preparatory studies at St. Gregory Seminary and studied theology at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West. He was ordained on May 26, 1956 at St. Monica Cathedral in Cincinnati, Ohio by Archbishop Karl J. Alter.

Father Bensman was the last child of Joseph & Emma (Hoying) Bensman.  He is survived by a sister-in-law Marcella Bensman, Russia and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Sister Mary Edmund S.C., Herbert & Bettie Bensman, Norman Bensman, Sister Mary Josephine S.C., Sister Joseph Maria S.C., Julianna & Wilfred Bergman, Joseph Bensman and Victor Bensman.

Reception of the Body : Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Charles Center (Carthagena), 2860 U.S. Route 127, Celina, Ohio 45822; (419-925-4516.) Celebrant and Homilist: Reverend Richard W. Walling. Visitation: continues until Mass of Christian Burial.

Mass of Christian Burial : Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Charles Center. Celebrant: Most Reverend Dennis M. Schnurr. Homilist: Reverend Richard W. Walling.

Burial : Thursday, May 31, 2018, immediately following the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, 7555 Hoying Road, Anna, Ohio 45302 .  Celebrant: Reverend Steven L. Shoup.
