Ralph R. Schilling, age 86, of 409 E. South St., Coldwater, Ohio, died at 6:11 AM on Wednesday, June 01, 2011 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. He was born August 03, 1924 in Ft. Recovery, Ohio to Phillip & Philamena (Thoma) Schilling. On June 26, 1947 he married Irene (Siefring) and she survives in Coldwater, Ohio. He is also survived by five children, Patty Schilling of Tiffin, Ohio, Terry Padney of Bay Village, Ohio, Joanne Schilling of Westerville, Ohio, Rick Schilling of Coldwater, Ohio and Thomas & Cathy Schilling of Oakwood, Ohio, a son-in-law, Butch Duerr of Coldwater, Ohio, four grandchildren, Christine & Rob Jahn, Doug & Andrea Duerr, Gina Padney and McClelland Schilling, six great-grandchildren, Sarah, Katie, Gracie & Sophia Jahn, Norah & Curtis Duerr, a sister, Helene Doll of Coldwater, Ohio, and two sisters-in-law, Dolly Schilling of Midland, Michigan and Marie Schilling of Coldwater, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sharon Duerr, a son-in-law, Edward Padney, three sisters, Edna & Al Jano, Ruth & Andrew Busch and Esther & Hubert Jones, three brothers, Vincent & Maryan Schilling, Regis Schilling and Eugene Schilling and a brother-in-law, Tony Doll. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society, a charter member of the Coldwater V.F.W., a member of the Coldwater American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII for which he was awarded a Purple Heart. He worked at Pax Steel in Coldwater and was retired from the former New Idea Plant in Coldwater. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 04, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, Ohio. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
