Phyllis Margaret Shier, age 94, formerly of Plum Dr, Coldwater died on Monday, December 03, 2012 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born November 19, 1918 in Mercer County, Ohio to the late Bryan and Orpha (Martz) Shaffer. On August 27, 1960 she married John Shier and he died January 25, 1993. Phyllis is survived by a daughter Debra Shier of Longmont, Colorado, a son Rich & Linda Shier of Ft. Recovery, four grandchildren Andy, Barry, Chuck & Lorraine, a great grandchild Ayden and a sister Ruth Siepert of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She is preceded in death by a son Duane, a sister Helen & Dale LaRue and a brother Richard & Jean Shaffer. She was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a nurse in the US Army serving during WWII and worked for Dr. Atkins' office. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 06, 2012 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater, Ohio. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina Ohio. Friends may call on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday after 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
