Paul J. Ranly age 91 of 263 N. Hanover St., Minster, Ohio passed away on Monday January 30, 2012 in St. Marys, Ohio. He was born April 14, 1920 in Cassella to the late Peter & Sophia (Speck) Ranly. He married Erma Mary Obringer on April 15, 1944. She preceded him in death on December 12, 1980. He then married Marie F. (Post) Koesters on January 7, 1984. She survives in St. Henry. He is also survived by children Daniel & Peggy Ranly, Minster, Alice (Ranly) & Lloyd Duncan, Greenfield, IN, Dorothy (Ranly) Lesher, Englewood, Gerald & Nancy Ranly, Minster, Marie (Ranly) Eakle, Kettering, James & Mary Ranly, Minster, Dale & Jeanette Ranly, Minster, Nicholas & Karen Ranly, Minster, Marvin & Carol Ranly, Minster, Gene Ranly, Lebanon, Kevin & Debora Ranly, Ft. Loramie, and deceased son Lester & son-in-law Gary Eakle, 28 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; step-daughters; Jean & Elmer Mueller, Yorkshire, Joan & Gerald (Hap) Brunswick, Anna, Charlene & Lou Grieshop, Ft. He was preceded in death by brothers, sisters & in-laws Alvina & Walter Klosterman, Norbert & Ethel Ranly, Victor Ranly, Hilda & Florus Obringer, Walter Ranly, Arthur Ranly Rita & Raymond Flaute, Fr. Ernest Ranly, Mary Ellen Ranly, Joseph Ranly & Bernard Droesch. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and an honorary member of the St. Augustine Men's choir after 46 years of service. He was also a member of the Minster Knights of Columbus, Minster Eagles, Minster VFW, Maria Stein American Legion, Maria Stein Knights of St. John, Minster Athletic & Academic Boosters, Lake Loramie Improvement Association, Naim of the North & C K of A, Cassella. He was the founder of Ranly Cabinets and worked from 1956 to 1982 and was an avid fisherman. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, February 2, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday February 1, 2012 & from 9 to 9:30 AM on Thursday February 2, 2012. Burial will be at St. Augustine Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be held at the cemetery by the Minster Firing Squad. Family requests donations be made to Lake Loramie Improvement Association.
