Paul R. Maltinsky, age 92 formerly of 240 N. Main St. Minster, OH died at 5:20 AM on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Elmwood of New Bremen. He was born October 3, 1919 in Wheeling, WV to former immigrants from Austria-Hungry Paul & Anna (Stanek) Malatinsky. He married Ann M Barhorst on July 31, 1948 in St. Michael Church, Ft. Loramie. She preceded him in death on December 25, 2008. He is survived by children: Pam Maltinsky, Columbus, Anita & David Uetrecht, Botkins, Lynn & Jeanne Maltinsky, Williamsburg, VA, Greg & Joann Maltinsky, Minster, Nathan & Chris Maltinsky, Millis, MA, Christine & Jay Purdy, Minster, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Virgil Barhorst, Ft. Loramie and 7 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, great grandson Jackson David Precht, brothers & sisters Mary Logomarcino, Agnes Malatinsky, Steve Malatinsky, John Malatinsky, Tony Malatinsky, Katherine Malatinsky. Paul was a member of St, Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, The St. Augustine Men's Choir. He graduated from Wheeling High School, the Ohio State University, where he played football from 1942-1944 and was a member of the 1944 Western Conference Champions and was a member of the OSU Baseball team and a member of the Varsity O and ATO Fraternity. He taught for 30+ years at Minster Schools where he was a the "Father of Minster Football" and he also coached basketball and baseball. Paul was a member of the Minster Civic Association and the owner/operator of Maltinsky's Men's Wear. He was also active at Arrowhead golf Club. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Thursday September 13, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Minster from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM Thursday. Burial will be at St. Augustine Cemetery.
