Patricia FitzGerald Smith died peacefully at home on November 28, 2014 in Shippensburg PA. She was born in 1923 in England, the daughter of the late Maurice and Marie FitzGerald. Patricia served in the Second World War as a Red Cross nurse with the British Royal Navy. She completed her nurse's training in the West London Hospital in England. In 1953, she immigrated to the United States and worked at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie IN. She married Richard J. Smith in 1955 and moved to Coldwater OH, working at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. Preceding her in death was her brother, Desmond. Survivors include her husband Richard; her daughter Angela Sachleben, and husband Mark (Shippensburg PA); son David, and wife Karen, and two grandsons, Cameron and Spencer Smith (Fayetteville NY). A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater OH on Friday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a donation to hospice, or a charity of choice.
