Patricia Ann (Patsy) Dawson of Celina died May 30, 2012 at 12:15 a.m.. She was 74. She was the daughter of Lenita (Spicer) & Glenn Garrett. She was born on July 5, 1937 in Sand Fork, West Virginia and graduated from Sand Fork High School in 1955. She received her degree in Elementary Education from Glenville State College in 1959. Mrs. Dawson was married on December 19, 1959 to William C.(Bill) Dawson in Parkersburg W.Va.. She taught two years at Emerson School in Parkersburg then completed her Career at East Elementary School in Celina, Ohio (1961-1991).
Surviving are her husband of 52 years Bill Dawson; two daughters Christi (Paul) Salchak of Waynesville, and Cherie (Tom) Smith of Celina,; three granddaughters Brittni, Nicole Gunter, Caroline Rose Salchak and Erika Taylor Smith. Also Three grandsons, Nathan Michael Gunter, Samuel William Salchak and Samuel Thomas Smith. Other Survivors include her sister Melba (Max) Marks of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and sister-in-law Louella (Richard) Kocielko of Elkhart Indiana and many nieces and nephews. Sue Ellen (Arthur) Coughlin her sister is deceased. Patsy's interests included Spending time with her family, reading , biking, quilting and doing volunteer work. She had attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church Since 1961. Teaching Elementary Children at East Elementary in Celina over the years brought special joy to her life and she helped educate over seven hundred children during her career. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross and 4 years with the Appalachian Service Project (ASP). Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Monday June 4, 2012 at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina, with Rev. Jeff Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 2-6p.m. on Sunday at the funeral Home and 1 hour before services on Monday at the Church.
