Otmar F. 'Curly' Bergman, age 85, of Montezuma, died Sunday February 9, 2014 at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater. He was born October 31, 1928 in Maria Stein, to the late Lawrence & Frances (Bruns) Bergman. On July 11, 1970 he married Margaret 'Peg' (Kaiser) in Ft. Recovery and she survives in Montezuma. He is also survived by four sons, David Bergman of Hamburg, Germany, Larry & Lisa Bergman of Lisle, Il, Rick & Amy Bergman of Minster and Joe & Beth Bergman of Columbus, nine grandchildren, Emma, Sophie, Joseph, Daniel, Sarah, Samuel, Justin, Tyler & Riley, siblings Jim & Faye Bergman of Dayton, Anna Marie Osterloh of Coldwater and Larry & Jeanne Bergman of Eygpt, in laws Ivalou Bergman of New Bremen, Tom Minch of Xenia, Robert & Barbara Kaiser of Hamilton, Chuck & Linda Kaiser of Cincinnati and Elaine Kaiser of Michigan. He is preceded in death by siblings Richard Bergman, Marinus Bergman, Irene Minch, Gene & Kate Bergman amd Theresa & Bob Willhoff and in laws Ralph Osterloh and Jerry Kaiser. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma and the Knights of St. John, Maria Stein. He loved Marion Local Sports and was a member of the 1st St. John High School Football team. He volunteered at the Center for Neurological Development, Burkettsville. He worked as a tool & die maker and was a farmer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 3 to 8 pm and on Thursday from 9 to 10 am at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
