Othmar 'Ott' Homan, 86 of Villa Hills, KY., formerly of Coldwater, passed peacefully on May 19, 2013 at hospice with his two daughters at his side.

He was born in St. Anthony, Ohio on August 26, 1926 to the late Edward and Catherine (Wendel) Homan. He was married May 28, 1949 to Rita (Reinhart) Homan who died February 22, 2013

He is survived by seven children, Thomas (Nancy Moeller)Homan, New Smyrna Beach, FL., David (Barbara Lange) Homan, Rochester Hills, Mich., Richard (Gretchen Heid) Homan, Naperville, IL., Susan (Harry) Chesnut, Alexandria, KY., Catherine (Thomas) Bourgeois, Alexandria, KY., Michael Homan and Debra Briner, Columbus, Oh. and Carol (Dexter) Holt, Sherborn, MA.; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Leon (Ladonna), Ralph (Barbara), Lucille Barna, Marie Schroyer, Margaret Gentry, Lavern ( Mary) and Dan (Linda); Sister-in-laws Mary Ann Homan, Jane Boeckman, and Judy Homan.

Deceased are brothers Wilbur, Ernest and Anthony; brother-in-laws Ron Barna, George Schroyer, and Ted Gentry; sister-in-law Jeanette Homan; and a granddaughter, Theresa Homan.

Ott was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, a life member of American Legion Post #470, and past member of Knights of Columbus Council #1991 and Coldwater Fraternal Order of Eagles #3025.

He retired from New Idea where he worked as a tool and die maker most of his adult life as well as attending to his farm.

Dad enjoyed working outside in his woods and workshop. He loved to take his grandkids for a ride on his tractor out to his woods. His love of nature will be our fondest memories of him. He was an avid Reds and Bengal fan and hunted, fished and enjoyed playing cards.

He was a devoted and loving husband and a father we all respected and are proud of.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.

Calling is 3-8 pm Thursday and 9-10 am on Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com
