Orville “Dub” C. Chambers age 95 of Minster, Ohio died at 10:30 AM on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at his home around Lake Loramie. He was born on November 6, 1921 in Fort Loramie to the late Elmer & Mabel (Severn) Chambers. He married Helen Robbins on May 17, 1946 in Fort Loramie and she survives. He was preceded in death by brothers & sisters: Bernice R. Paulus, Roy & Frieda Chambers, Russell “Buddy “ & Evelyn Chambers, Alice & John Musser, Evelyn & Robert Conner and Florence & Lee Drees. Orville worked at the Minster Coal Yard in his early years and retired from the Fort Loramie State Park after 27 years of work. He was a founder of the Rumly Independent Baptist Church and a deacon there. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II where he was a Purple Heart recipient. Orville played baseball for many years with Brucken’s Baseball team. Funeral Service will be held on 10:30 AM Friday, April 28, 2017 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster with Pastor Ernie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
