Orval A. Schwieterman, age 89, of Coldwater, died on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater. He was born August 30, 1927 in St. Sebastian to the late Arthur & Mary (Dorsten) Schwieterman. On April 15, 1950 he married Helen (Steinbrunner) and she died February 28, 2010. He is survived by children, Diane & Mike Stokesberry of Bettendorf, IA, Randy & Karen Schwieterman, Terry & Joann Schwieterman, Kevin & Belinda Schwieterman, and Rebecca & Kerry Klosterman all of Coldwater; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Madonna Brunswick, Coldwater, Fr Edgar Jutte, Carthagena, and Tom & Vivian Jutte, Bellefontaine; in-laws, Delores Schwieterman, Maria Stein, Dorothy Jutte, Sidney, Teresa Steinbrunner, St Joe, Delores Abels, Coldwater, and Eileen Steinbrunner, Marion, IN. He is preceded in death by his step father Ted Jutte; siblings and in laws, Roger Schwieterman, Mark & Rose Mary Schwieterman, Donald Jutte, John Brunswick, Albert Steinbrunner, Carl & Jean Steinbrunner, Ralph Abels & Harold Steinbrunner. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Men’s Society of the Church, Coldwater Knights of Columbus, Coldwater Eagles and Coldwater American Legion. He served in the Merchant Marines at the end of WWII. Orval retired from the former New Idea Plant in Coldwater. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 PM and on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Care.
