Norma Jean Tompkins

Norma Jean Tompkins age 93 of Minster, Ohio, died Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Elmwood Assisted Living, New Bremen.  She was born August 30, 1931 in Fort Loramie, Ohio to the late Henry & Amelia (Broering) Larger.  She married Thomas Tompkins on September 8, 1953 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Ft. Loramie, Ohio and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2011. She is survived by daughter & son-in-law Elaine & Kent Frazier, Wilmington, Ohio, granddaughter Hannah & Kevin Garen, New Vienna, Ohio, great granddaughter Elaine, brother: Richard & Marilyn Larger, Minster, sister-in-law Shirley Larger, Sidney and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  She was preceded in death by brother James Larger, sister Georgianna & Ivo Hoying. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Ohio, the decorating committee of the church and Minster F.O.E. 1391, Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Fort Loramie High School and Good Samaritan School of Nursing, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a Registered Nurse at Wilson Hospital for 40 years. She enjoyed gardening, birding, reading, cooking, sailing and was part of the Coast Guard Auxiliary on Grand Lake St. Marys. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 25, 2024 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Ohio with burial to follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, Ohio from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2024 and from 9 to 9:30 AM on Friday, October 25.  The family requests memorial contributions be made to Wilson Hospice.
