Norbert G. Vanderhorst

Norbert G. Vanderhorst, age 81, of Minster, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Heritage Manor, Minster, OH. He was born September 5, 1934 in Minster, Ohio, to the late John & Nettie (Zumberge) Vanderhorst. On August 12, 1967 he married Patricia Merkle and she preceded him in death on May 29, 1978. He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law Dina & Jim Marchal, Russia, Ohio, sisters, Mary & Othmar Fullenkamp, Maria Stein, Dorothy & Cy Borchers, Centerville, brother-in-law Warren & Jean Merkle, Canal Fulton, Ohio and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, in-laws Walter & Anne Merkle and sister-in-law Anne & Lee Pullman, nephew Greg Pullman. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, 50 + year member of Minster F.O.E. #1391. He was also a member of the Cataract Fire Departmemnt, Piqua Antique Car Club, the 25 year club at Minster Machine and the American Legion. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Minster Machine after 33 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster.  Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery with full military honors by the Minster Firing Squad.
