Nihla George Davis age 92 of North Star, Ohio died at 2:45 AM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at State of the Heart Hospice Inpatient Unit at Wayne Hospital, Greenville. She was born on January 16, 1923 in North Star to the late William & Laura (Gelhaus) George. She married Albert F. Davis on December 30, 1944 in Norfolk, VA. He preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by sons: Kent & Betty Davis & Dick Davis all of North Star, daughter-in-law Mary Jo Davis & husband Pete Kilmartin, Tennessee, Dick's ex wife Jean Unger, Dayton, 12 Grandchildren: Jason, Jessica, Jonathan, Joshua, Rob, Penny, Kathleen, Alex, Kylie, Emily, Laura & Michelle & 28 great grandchildren, sister Elizabeth Schlarman, North Star & sister-in-law Roberta George, Santa Barbara, CA. She was preceded in death by sons Keith, Bruce & Mark, sister Laverne & George Schuette, brothers Richard George & James & Ann George. She was a graduate of Versailles High School in 1941 and attended Ohio Northern University at the age of 45. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, and St. Ann's Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of the North Star American Legion Auxiliary for 67 years, a charter member of the Darke County Board of Mental Retardation, Naim of the North, 12 years on Ansonia Rescue and served as North Star Village Clerk for 60 years. She and her husband Albert owned and operated Davis Pure Oil and later Davis Camper Sales until Albert's death in 1977. She and her son Kent operated Davis Camper Sales until her retirement in 1987 when Kent & his wife, Betty took over. She recently became a member of the Versailles Area Museum and wrote the history of North Star. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star with Rev. David Zink celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Louis Cemetery.
