Michael J. Gavit

Michael J. Gavit, age 70 of Minster, died the morning of Sunday, May 30, 2021 at his home. He was born December 29, 1950 in Celina, Ohio to the late Robert & Dorothy (Goeke) Gavit.  He married Patricia M. Winner on August 7, 1974 in Minster Ohio. She preceded him in death on May 12, 2016.  He is survived by children: Katie & Brett Simon, Cincinnati, Erin & Philip Frilling, Minster, Joseph & Maura Gavit, Minster, grandchildren: Michael, Daniel, Joanna Simon, Johnathan Gavit and Clara Frilling, brothers & sisters: Shirley & Bob Berger, North Star, Karen & Virgil Puthoff, Beavercreek, Margaret “Peg” Gavit, Huber Heights, Rebecca “Becky” & Hank Pohlman, Versailles, Patrick “Pat” & Margo Gavit, North Star, in-laws: Ron & Cheryl Winner, Florida, Roger “Pete” Winner, Tipp City, Jane & Jim Hatfield, Glen Ellyn, IL, Susan Winner, Minster, Judy Winner, Minster,  Peter LaFalce, Lexington, KY, Greg & Teresa Winner, Minster.  He was preceded in death by brother John Gavit, in-laws: Sara Winner, Richard “Beetle” Winner, Pamela LaFalce.  He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, former member of Board of Public Affairs, Fort Loramie, former member of the Fort Loramie Fire Department, Sons of the American Legion & Chicken Fryer, Past Board Member of Arrowhead Colf Course.  He was a 1969 graduate of Versailles High School and co-owner of Gavit Paving, North Star.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie with Rev. Steven Shoup Celebrant.
