Melvin E. Luthman age 78 of Botkins, Ohio died at 10:05 PM, March 29, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born December 30, 1934 in Sidney Ohio to the late Bernard & Amelia (Raterman) Luthman. He married Agnes Esser on October 10, 1959 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville. She survives in Botkins. He is also survived by children Greg & Tammy Luthman, Botkins, Lorie & Todd Grow, Columbus, Jon & Jane Luthman, Botkins, Steve & Elaine Luthman, Anna, Alan & Kathy Luthman, Anna, Michael Luthman, Sidney, 14 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren, brother & sister Si & Margaret Luthman, Anna & Rosalie Hempfling, Findlay. He was preceded in death by brothers & sister, Vernon, Vincent, Gloria, Orville & twin brother Merlin. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville and Knights of Columbus, McCartyville. He was a graduate of Holy Angels High School in 1953 and a veteran of the US Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, April 3, 2013 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville, with Rev. John Tonkin, celebrant. Friends may call at the SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, McCartyville from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2013.
