Mary K. Wellman, age 88, of Coldwater, Ohio, died on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater. She was born April 7, 1924 in Philothea, Ohio to the late Ben & Catherine (Schoenlein) Dues. On January 20, 1951, she married William Wellman, who died December 5, 1992. She is survived by four children, Jerry & Janet Wellman of New Knoxville, Marie & Bob Walls, Roger & Lora Wellman and Betty & Jeff Geier, all of Coldwater, 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Evelyn & Clete Woeste and Lucille & Dennis Jansen, both of Coldwater, and in-laws, Helen Dues of St. Henry, Betty & Gene East of Tipp City, Alberta Schmitmeyer of Minster and Velma Wellman of Coldwater. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers, Walter Dues, Gene Dues and Melvin Dues, and in-laws, Bernard Wellman, Fred Schmitmeyer, Beatrice & William Leyes. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality, the Coldwater High School Class of 1941, was a former hospital and Briarwood volunteer, an avid Cavalier fan and enjoyed gardening, bingo and family activities. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, with Fr. Marc Soellner, officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater. Contributions may be made to the Briarwood Activity Fund.
