Mary A. Smith, age 87, of Coldwater, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Gardens at St. Henry. She was born May 30, 1926 in Coldwater to the late Jacob & Elizabeth (Billerman) Schoen. She is survived by three sons, Allan & Carole (Tobin) Bilger of White Pigeon, MI, Mark & Teresa (Herndon) Bilger of Coldwater and Paul & Saundra (Kilgore) Smith of Fayetteville, AK, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, in laws Pauline Schoen-Hess and Mildred Schoen of both of Coldwater, Lee & Ruth Billger and June Billger all of Celina. She is preceded in death by her first husband Carlyle Bilger, her second husband DeForest Smith, brothers, Paul, Linie & Louis Schoen, in laws Ruth Schoen-Westgerdes, Cappy Westgerdes, Paul Hess, Monty Billger, Linda Billger, Bill Smith, Calvin & Velve Goubouex and Don & Marie Stalder. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater, the Coldwater Legion Auxiliary and a former all women's orchestra that played at Edgewater park. Mary's only regret was not being able to make everyone their peanut brittle this year. Funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
